OBC advises Oyetola to improve Osun reading culture and equip state library with modern books

OBC ADVISES OYETOLA TO IMPROVE OSUN READING CULTURE AND EQUIP STATE LIBRARY WITH MODERN BOOKS

The Osogbo Book Club, an arm of the Ulli Beier Society, has advised the current governor of Osun State to improve the moribund reading culture of the state by equipping the state and local government libraries with modern books and modern educational resources.

This was contained in a release issued and signed by the Coordinator of the Club, Mr. Wole Adedoyin in Osogbo on Sunday.

According to Mr. Adedoyin, “I must commend Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the good works his doing in the health area. He is really doing a great job. But Mr. Governor should also pay attention to other areas begging for immediate attention. Libraries in Osun State need an urgent attention. There are no modern books in those libraries. What are currently there are outdated books. Osun people are avid readers. 40% of them still consult libraries for educational purposes.

We are urging Mr. Governor to make sure he appointed members who are book lovers and whose educational background are solid as members of the Osun State Library Board when the time of appointment comes.

Mr. Adedoyin finally urged writers and publishers within and outside Osun state to cultivate an habit of donating both their new and old books to any library in the state.
